The Regional Sunday School competition was held at St. Ignatious Malankara Jacobite Syriac Cathedral, Dallas on Sept 30, 2017. Our children participated in many events and bagged prizes Story telling and Devotional singing in Malayalam and English. Kudos to the children, the teachers and all the parents for their support. A big Thank you to St. Ignatious Church, Dallas for hosting a wonderful event this year

St. Thomas Syriac Jacobite Orthodox Church celebrated its Perunal today. We thank our All mighty God for all His blessings and our patron St.Thomas for the intercession and prayers. (Mark 2:1-12, cf. Isaiah 5:20-25) “When Jesus saw their faith…” The passage from Isaiah describes people who should know better so deluded by pride that they start calling God’s principals evil, forgetting God’s role as Creator. Being unsatisfied with merely discounting God, they start promoting evil as though “it’s all good!” Such a people are unable to re-engage God when the consequences start rolling in. They may no longer even know His name. The paralytic’s foremost problem was not the weakness of his limbs, but sickness

Lepers are untouchable. I don’t mean that they’re considered superstars…just the opposite. People shunned them. For good reason too. They carried a highly communicable disease with horrible consequences. Jesus lived a fully Jewish/Aramean life, concerning Himself with the material and cultural needs to people like Him. Of course He lived without sin.

Exploiting communication technology to enrich prayer life, Syrian Orthodox Church, a prominent non-Catholic segment in Kerala, on Friday launched a prayer app named ‘Qleedo.’ The prayer app would be available for the faithfuls across the world both in Android and iOS platforms, supported with all user languages. The project was funded by the youth ministry of North American Archdiocese of the Church. Fr. Zacharia Varghese, who conceptualized the prayer app, said Qleedo provides a new facet to the richness of Orthodox prayer

Luke 1:26-38 As we enter the week of Thanksgiving here in the USA, and many prepare for festivities, let us consider the most remarkable apparition to St. Mary, the Mother of God. We celebrate the Annunciation, the event that heralded the birth of our Lord. A few points: Life has its bumps and bruises, but God serves us peace. St. Mary must have been absolutely shocked to hear that she was going to carry the Son of God, yet she knows: To do God’s
